Pursuant to Section 3.59 of the Listing Requirements the Board of Directors of Zanaco Plc (“the Board”) wishes to inform the Bank’s shareholders and the public that Mr Deepak Malik has been appointed to serve on the Board as a non-executive director effective 1st January 2022.

Mr Malik holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from the University of Delhi and is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. He, until 31st December 2021, held the position of the Chief Executive Officer of Arise B.V South Africa, a leading financial services sector minority investor holding investments in ten countries within the Sub-Saharan Africa Region. Prior to his appointment in Arise B.V, Mr Malik held a number of executive positions at Norfund in the Netherlands; Development Bank of Zambia; and Zambia Consolidated Copper Mines. Mr Malik was the Regional Representative in Investment Funds for Developing Countries in Johannesburg and Denmark.

Mr. Malik is also currently a Non-Executive Board Member on the Ecobank Transnational Incorporated (ETI) Group Board and a member of the Independent Investment Committee on the South Suez Capital. The Board of Directors looks forward to Mr Malik’s contribution to the company and would like to take this opportunity to congratulate him on his appointment.
