Owen Silavwe
Owen Silavwe is the current Managing Director of Copperbelt Energy Corporation (CEC) and has been in the role since 2014. He is an Executive Director of the CEC Board and sits on the Executive, Nominations, Remuneration and Employee Development, Investment and Risk Committees. Prior to his role as Managing Director, he served as Commercial Director and Chief Operating Officer of the Company. He has over 21 years’ experience in the management and operation of electricity infrastructure and energy markets. He has made significant contribution to the business transformation at CEC. He has also held the positions of Chief Operating Officer and Managing Director, Operations for ZCCM Investment.
Owen Silavwe has previously served on the Absa Zambia and the Hai Telecoms Boards as a Non-Executive Director.

Qualifications
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, a Master of Science, Electrical Power Engineering as well as a Master of Business Administration (MBA). He is a member of the Institute of Directors (IoD) Zambia and the Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ).
